Doom 3 game trailer1/5/2023 The game’s main mechanic is the GrabPack, a wearable backpack that sports two hands with extendable arms. In particular, you’re trying to avoid Huggy Wuggy: a towering furry blue monster with multiple rows of teeth. In Poppy Playtime, you are trying to escape an abandoned toy factory, while at the same time avoiding the wrath of the vengeful toys lurking in the dark. As such, the film will feature a new storyline “that stands alone as its own terrifying and gripping saga.” It’s going to be a great ride!”Īccording to Studio71’s President of Scripted Content Michael Schreiber, MOB Games’ vision for the title is “a vivid tapestry” that allow for the film to expand upon what already exists in the game without retread. “We are so excited to deliver the next chapter of our game and beyond excited to work with Studio71 to transform Poppy into a feature film. “We never could have imagined that would become as popular as it is with such an enormous and ever-growing legion of fans,” said Mob Games’ President & CEO, Zach Belanger. Lee is obviously no stranger to horror, having produced films such as both It films, Doctor Sleep, The Grudge (both the American remake and the 2020 reboot), and more recently the upcoming Salem’s Lot adaptation from Gary Dauberman. The developer is teaming up with Studio71 to develop and produce the film, which both parties are banking for future franchise potential.Īccording to Deadline, the project is already being fast-tracked by Studio71, with talks to bring on board producer Roy Lee. Still, it’s Doom 3 in some form, and with over 15 hours of content and a focus on survival horror, it’s still quite the contrast to 2016’s DOOM and DOOM Eternal. Rather, it’s the BFG Edition, which brings along with all of those aesthetic changes (the aforementioned flashlight, lighting and sound tweaks) that you might not like. Sadly for those purists, this still isn’t the original version of Doom 3.
